INTERACTIONS

Interaction with the environment through local wireless networks

The mobile device interacts with the environment through local wireless networks (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) and sensors (e.g. Webcam, nfc). Objectives:
  • Identification of the device
  • Display via virtual screen
  • Fast and user friendly interaction with the apparatus
Architecture and subsystems
  • The Environmental Intelligence Module (MIA)
    performs the functions of environmental interaction and communication with the device to monitor / maintain.
  • The Interface Device Module (MID)
    realizes the part of decoupling between the system and the apparatus that needs to be monitored. The software module is mounted on an embedded device located close to one or more devices needing monitoring and connected to them through their associated interfaces.
VIRTUAL SCREEN
  • The qr code detected by the webcam identify the dynamic virtual screens from which you can monitor and control devices
  • The screen displays pages that can dynamically adapt to the size of the actual framed device

Automatic Recognition

Through the Automatic Recognition, which combines features typical of augmented reality with the ones of the Object Recognition, the app will be able to:
  • identify the apparatus framed with the tablet
  • view the 3D model of the apparatus in augmented reality
  • providing content related to the equipment and its components
Manual selection

With the feature Manual Selection the user can manually select the device he wants to use.

The search process is divided in steps:

the operator must first of all indicate the class, and then specify the type of apparatus. The system can then return the filtered results and allow the user to select the device of interest.

TOOLS

  • Direct interaction
    the user can interact directly with the model in a simple and intuitive way. He can scale, rotate and move the model.
  • Explode model
    with this tool the user can view the 3D model "exploded" in all its components.
  • Information on the apparatus
    the user, after his research or recognition, can access a range of information on the apparatus and its components.
  • Labels
    the operator can enable / disable the display of labels for the components.
